Going to Bantayan is a backbreaking expedition. This requires patience and more patience.

Very exhausting line to wonderland

If you are starting your journey from Cebu proper, you need to go to North Bus Terminal, as early as 10PM. If you want to catch the first trip from Hagnaya Port to Sta. Fe Port at 4AM.

We really had a very bad experience in getting a ride to Hagnaya Port.  I had buried my self  for the last 2 months reading a lot of blogs to fully equip myself for this trip. However, none had mentioned their atrocious experience. We’ve stood for almost 2 hours to get a ticket from Ceres Bus Liner going to Sta Fe. Some people bought 10 tickets and more. Crossing my fingers while on line to get that seat for us, didn't really help at all. You have to say your prayers very intensely. Viola! On our turn they've told us that we've already run out of seat.

I was in the most pensive moment of my life, but I don't wanna ruin our trip. I have to act immediately because the next trip will be at 7AM. We're here and it’ll be a total waste of time if we'll not get into that first trip and wait until 7AM. It was very relieving to know that they also have another bus to Hagnaya Port, but it'll will not go to Sta Fe. Terminal. So, we took that ride instead.

Just after the sober experience, we've learned that you can take other bus company going to Hagnaya Port. There’s no need to depend on the Ceres Bus Liner. You also have other bus companies at the terminal that are non-air conditioned. Which are not overcrowded and could help you save time and money.

Having the privileged of a pregnant look
we were seated at the front seat

The trip from the terminal will take 3 to 4 hours depending on how fast your vehicle will be. Our trip took 3 hours, has provided us an hour to settle ourselves. We're so lucky to be seated in front, at a very comfortable seat. But we didn't left the terminal until the bus gets full, overflowing.

The driver ask some commuters to be seated on the isle, with a stool. Very uncomfortable and they were not discounted at all.

You’re still going to get off the bus once you arrive at the Hagnaya Port. So, I suggest that you take the Hagnaya route bus. If you’re going to take the City Tour, I suggest you take the Sta Fe. Route. The bus will take you directly to the City Terminal.

The price also differ it’s very costly to take a Sta. Fe route, and very inconvenient. You still have to take off the bus to pay terminal fees, and nothing extravagant awaits you there. From the port, you can take a tricycle to your accommodation, and it's only 10Php. If you'd like to skip the long ride. You can take the Air Juan ride, it's an exclusive 9 sitter direct plane ride to Bantayan. This will only cost you 1,288 pesos, but they only have limited flights.

But all the trouble is well paid off.
